Bauhaus Web Design- BWD -  has undergone some pretty drastic changes over the past few years and after a considerable amount of time being dormant, the two remaining directors, John and Steve have decided to kick start the company again.  We have a new server and are focusing on simple sites, mostly using CMS although we can do bespoke sites if desired.

What is a CMS?  Well it is not a minor angel in Enochian occult tradition as some may think!   We are talking about a Content Management System which is a web application designed to make it easy for non-technical users to add, edit and manage a website.

Not only do content management systems help website users with content editing, they also take care of a lot of "behind the scenes" work such as:

• Automatically generate navigation elements
• Making content searchable and indexable
• Keeping track of users, their permissions and security settings
• And much, much more.

We use Joomla which is an open source CMS.  This means that it is free to download and sell on as we wish.  So, yes, if you wish, you can download Joomla from the internet free of charge and then upload it to your server and start to manage your web site!  However, if you do not know how to do that, one quick payment to BWD and we will configure your Joomla site within 24 hours.  If you also wish us to design your Joomla site to make it look unique, then that will take a little longer and cost a little more, but even so - within a week we should be able to get your site up and running!!  We can advise you how to manage and maintain your site or - if so desired, we do have cintent management contacts whereby we will maintain your site for you.  This does obviously come at a further cost.

 How much?  We will host your site on our servers for £25 per year.  We will register your domain name at cost price and then charge an addition £20 to set your site on our servers.  The design of your site - well that depends totally on the number of pages you wish and the amount of content.  I am afraid you will have to e-mail us for a quote.

 Bespoke sites - again as these are so unique to the individual - we would have to have your information before providing a quote.  However, a single page we presence site with a banner uniquely designed by us - that will cost £75 including domain name registration.

 We also host Moodle sites - the outstanding Open Source Course Management System  (also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)) It has become very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic web sites for their students. To work, it needs to be installed on a web server somewhere, either on one of your own computers or one at a web hosting company.
